Xochilt Vazquez, LPC

Xochilt Vazquez is a bilingual (English/Spanish) and EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist that specializes in the treatment of trauma. Xochilt has over eight years of experience treating children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced recent or past traumatic event(s).

Specifically, she has experience working with the following concerns: Child abuse (sexual, physical, emotional, and neglect), PTSD, Parenting, and Attachment, Codependency, Depression, Anxiety, and Domestic Violence, Life transitions, Recovery after divorce, General relationship challenges (with family, friends, coworkers), and Self-esteem, Stress management, and Grief and Loss.

Recently, she has also been providing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), The EMDR Protocol for Recent Critical Incidents (EMDR-PRECI) and Ongoing Traumatic Stress and The Acute Stress Syndrome Stabilization-Remote (ASSYST-R) procedure in an intensive manner to offer clients a more dedicated time to work on a particular concern over a course of one week to help clients save time and obtain faster relief when compared to weekly therapy sessions.

Xochilt is honored to walk with clients as they work through the pain they have carried for a long time. The positive changes she hopes each client experiences are those that she has seen in others she has helped. She has witnessed that through a combination of talk therapy, EMDR techniques, HeartMath techniques, and other trauma-focused therapies the traumatic images, and negative thoughts a person believes about themselves can change and the traumatic event be remembered without the intense distress.

As your therapist, Xochilt will help you be able to express and gain understanding of your emotions and the event(s) you survived. The best part is that you don’t have to be perfect doing it. After all, healing is not a straight line. Plus, your brain is such a powerful healing tool, and you are the only person on earth who knows your trauma and challenges. Xochilt can also help you find a combination of things that that will help you create a healing environment outside of therapy.
