Out-of-network benefits are needed in your plan for out-of-network billing to be possible. Please contact your plan administrator for more information. I will complete any forms and provide you with whatever assistance I can in helping you receive the benefits to which you are entitled; however, you (not your insurance company) are responsible for full payment of my fees. It is very important that you find out exactly what mental health services your insurance policy covers.
HERE ARE SOME QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY
Initial Intake and Assessment. Individual counseling. Family or Couples counseling.
Will my insurance cover out of network benefits? Do I have mental health insurance benefits? If pre-authorization is required, who provides it (this provider, another provider, or me)?
What information and documentation do I need to provide to my insurance company? What information and documentation does the provider need to provide to my insurance company? What else do I need to know to get coverage for the treatment services I/my family member need?
What is my deductible, and has it been met? How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover? What is the coverage amount per counseling session?

Pay
Payment is due at the time of rendering services. Cash, check, FSA or online via the client portal are acceptable payment options. Copays are due on the day of service.
*Our fees vary according to services and insurance. Please contact us and set up a meeting to discuss your individual goals. We also accept private pay if you do not want to use your insurance and value privacy.
*If you do not have insurance, we have Licensed Associates that can see you for sliding scale fee.
*Unfortunately, insurance companies will not recognize and reimburse for services provided by LPC-Associates. However, if you have a FSA (flexible spending account) or health savings account, any counselor you receive services from at Hope Village Wellness Center, can be paid for with these accounts as they are paid to Hope Village Wellness Center and not individual counselors.

No insurance
Therapy services provided by licensed Associates are priced on a sliding scale. These rates are reduced and more affordable than seeing a fully licensed clinician.
While providing services, licensed Associates are overseen by licensed supervisors in the state of Texas.
See more information about LPC-Associates on the page below, under: “Why choose an LPC Associate?”
-
Why choose an LPC-Associate?
We at Hope Village Wellness Center employ not only fully licensed Licensed Professional Counselors ( LPCs), but also counseling associates( LPC-Associates.) Below are some frequently asked questions many may have about LPC-Associates and an explanation to why they are often one of the best choices you can make in choosing a psychotherapist.
-
What does it mean to be an LPC-Associate?
In Texas, an LPC- Associate is a temporarily licensed professional counselor. This means that the associate possesses at least a Master’s degree in counseling, or related field( including supervised field experiences) and has successfully passed the National Counselor Exam (NCE.) They then applied and were accepted for the temporary licenses. In the state of Texas, this means the associate must remain in supervision for the first 3,000 hours of their career before upgrading to an LPC credential that allows independent ( unsupervised) practice.
-
Is an LPC-Associate inexperienced?
No. While in graduate school, students are required to complete practicum ( field experience and live training.) The minimum required to graduate is 300 hours, but most students do more. While in graduate school, students may even select practicum sites that specialize in certain populations, diagnoses, or treatments.
-
Is an LPC-Associate a student?
No. An associate has already completed their graduate degree, completed practicum and other experiential training in graduate school, passed the NCE, and has been temporarily licensed by the Behavioral Health Executive Council. Associates are not students, but initiates into the counseling profession.
-
Why choose to work with an LPC-Associate?
While in the temporarily licensed stage, an LPC- Associate can not be paid by insurance and so is not able to charge an insurance company for services provided. Therefore, associates tend to have lower “cash pay” rates than LPCs. Here at Hope Village Wellness Center, our associates charge a relatively low rate ( $60.) Therefore, all the benefits of using cash pay options instead of insurance applies to all LPC- Associates. One does not have to be diagnosed with a mental health condition, or illness to seek services. Associates can provide therapy for issues many insurance companies will not cover, such as marital issues, relational concerns, adjustment and transition difficulties, grief/bereavement and more ( depending on your insurance company.)
When one works with an associate, they have the added benefit of having two clinicians with different skills and expertise, because associates are required to meet with their supervisor at least 4 hours per month. The primary purpose is to conceptualize cases, review interventions and techniques, collaborate on treatment options and much more. When receiving treatment from an associate, you get the benefit of not just having that person’s knowledge, experience and expertise, but also that of the associate’s supervisor!
