Uche completed a Master of Arts Degree in Christian Counseling and Master of Divinity at Oral Roberts University. Uche has worked in the mental health field in San Antonio for over 15 years. He has had an opportunity to work with a wide range of clients and patients in a variety of treatment settings in the San Antonio area. He also currently serves as a consulting therapist for a local attorney, providing assessments for pending immigration cases. Uche is a licensed professional counselor and supervisor to licensed counselors in training. Since 2011 he has practiced as a private clinician, providing individual therapy for children, adults, families, in addition to conducting psychosocial evaluations. His areas of focus and interest include abuse, neglect, complex trauma, domestic violence, racial trauma, dissociation, immigration, adolescent development issues, men’s development and PTSD among veterans and first responders. He is a trauma trained clinician who utilizes a variety of different therapies to address his client’s needs.
Uche is trained in a variety of complementary modalities and methodologies that have proven very effective in assisting his clients in improving their lives. His current primary focus is on the use of EMDR Therapy’s extensive applications for trauma and beyond. Uche is EMDRIA certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Currently he serves as an EMDRIA Approved Consultant for EMDR. Uche is trained in Clinical Hypnosis and will use the application when appropriate and based on clients need. Uche is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and is a CPT Provider. CPT is used specifically for PTSD. Uche uses the Safe and Sound Protocol an evidence-based therapeutic tool designed to reset the nervous system and return it to safety to help facilitate desired changes. Uche uses Brainspotting to identify, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. Uche also uses the biofeedback called HeartMath. It is a research-based approach to helping people achieve greater coherence and higher functioning. Uche draws from these techniques to individualize therapy for each person and situation. In his free time, he enjoys time with his wife, daughter, dog, playing soccer, basketball, cooking and listening to afro beats and jazz music.
