Uche Chukwureh, LPC-S

Uche completed a Master of Arts Degree in Christian Counseling and Master of Divinity at Oral Roberts University. Uche has worked in the mental health field in San Antonio for over 15 years. Uche is a licensed professional counselor and supervisor to licensed counselors in training. Since 2011 he has practiced as a private clinician, providing individual therapy for children, adults, families, in addition to conducting psychosocial evaluations.

Uche currently only offers 1:1 extended psychotherapy (2.5 hours), half-day or multiple day intensives when you have another primary therapist/psychiatrist. Uche also offers psychedelic integration sessions. 

Uche works with professional athletes, musicians, entrepreneurs, or executives struggling with mental blocks. The focus on the work to address the Yips, recent injury and challenges with productivity.

Uche offers consultation to determine which trauma approach is best suited for your healing path. Uche is trained in a variety of complementary modalities and methodologies that have proven very effective in assisting his clients in improving their lives. His current primary focus is on the use of EMDR Therapy’s extensive applications for trauma and beyond.

Uche is EMDRIA certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Currently he serves as an EMDRIA Approved Consultant for EMDR. Uche is trained in Clinical Hypnosis and will use the application when appropriate and based on clients need. Uche is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and is a CPT Provider. CPT is used specifically for PTSD. Uche uses the Safe and Sound Protocol an evidence-based therapeutic tool designed to reset the nervous system and return it to safety to help facilitate desired changes.

Uche is certified in Brainspotting and uses it to identify, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. Uche is a Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) provider. Uche also uses the biofeedback called HeartMath. It is a research-based approach to helping people achieve greater coherence and higher functioning. Uche draws from these techniques to individualize therapy for each person and situation. In his free time, he enjoys time with his wife, daughters, dog, playing soccer, basketball, cooking and listening to afro beats and jazz music.
