The clients in our practice have this experience with their therapists.  If we feel we are not a good fit after our initial session, we are happy to share additional referrals of trusted colleagues.

  • EMDR, Brainspotting & SSP allow the opportunity to progress through your symptoms in a more succinct and focused way without the interruption of a 50-minute session. An intensive format may decrease overall treatment time because of time not spent on: a) checking in at the beginning of each session, b) addressing current crises and concerns, c) focusing on stabilizing and coping skills that the client will not need after healing, or d) assisting the client in regaining composure at the end of the session.

  • Yes. EMDR intensives for current clients are available in modified formats and pricing.

  • Yes. Perhaps you’ve felt a sense that something profound has yet to change, but you’re not quite sure how to shift all the way into a new experience of yourself with your current therapist. Maybe you now cognitively understand new things, yet your body is still confused, so you’re curious about how adjunct EMDR, Brainspotting & SSP intensive therapy can help. We will identify what format is best for you during your initial consultation.

  • A half-day intensive offers a multitude of resources and can help to either increase performance and confidence, or significantly decrease the devastating effects of single event trauma (e.g. negative cognitions, disturbing emotions and body sensations). While significant healing can occur in one half-day intensive, Complex PTSD deserves more treatment than one half-day intensive. Many of our clients experiencing Complex PTSD may continue to work on their trauma histories through monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly half-day intensives.

  • Participating in a 3-day (weekday or weekend) EMDR, Brainspotting & SSP intensive may create impactful change more efficiently than just weekly, 50-minute sessions, or even one half-day intensive. We will identify what format is best for you during your initial consultation.

  • EMDR, Brainspotting SSP can be effectively utilized for:

Resourcing: We will work to strengthen internal resources while soothing parts of you that feel limited. EMDR utilizes images, emotions, body sensations, and positive cognitions to increase feelings of calm, safety, and confidence. Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. The Safe and Sound Protocol is an evidence-based therapeutic tool designed to reset the nervous system and return it to safety. Designed to work with other therapeutic approaches and modalities, the SSP features specially filtered music that stimulates the vagus nerve.

Trauma recovery: Trauma does not discriminate between people. Trauma can be experienced from an ongoing stressful condition, financial stress, interpersonal conflicts, difficulty with parents and losses. Trauma can also be experienced from major car accidents, assaults of all kinds and combat for veterans. Trauma leaves the activated charge from these experiences in our bodies, and they may lead to physical, emotional and nervous system problems.

  • We support individuals who are physically in Texas in 2 ways:

Adjunct intensive therapy (4 to 12 intensive sessions) in collaboration with your primary talk therapist. Adjunct therapy does not replace or interrupt ongoing therapy; it is supplemental to the primary therapeutic relationship. Usually adjunct therapy is short term (4-12 extended sessions) and desensitizes single incident trauma or simple phobias that interfere with the client’s therapeutic gains. Treatment is scheduled in an intensive format. The success of treatment is based on clearly defined goals for the EMDR therapist, defined in collaboration with the primary therapist and client.

  • Personalized EMDR, Brainspotting & SSP treatment (called intensives) are half-day to multi-day programs that include a customized client workbook specific to your goals. Fees are based on your needs and program design and are communicated ahead of time in accordance with the No Surprises Act. Typically, intensive therapy is $250 /hour.

We do not offer free consultations. You can get on the waitlist here for a 45-minute initial session to see if we wish to work intensively together. The rate for our first session/consultation is $225.

    Intensive spots are available.

  • Yes. Many insurance companies reimburse a significant portion of the cost of psychotherapy. For insurance purposes, we are considered an in-network provider. It's best to determine the exact details of your policy ahead of time, including what benefits are available regarding in-network providers and if your insurance will reimburse several hours of therapy in one day or one week. Most insurance policies will not cover EMDR Intensives in their entirety. Please contact your insurance to see what portion they will cover.
